Privacy Policy — Startup Manager

Summary

Startup Manager operates 100% locally on your personal computer. It does not collect, log, transmit, sell or share any personal data, and it makes no network connections.

What the App accesses

• Windows autostart locations: registry Run and RunOnce keys, the per-user and all-users Startup folders, Task Scheduler logon tasks and packaged-app startup tasks, solely to list them in the app.
• Startup approval state and the Windows theme preference, so the app can warn you when Windows disables its own autostart entry and match light or dark mode.

Where your data is stored

All configuration is stored locally on your device:

• Managed entries, priority order, launcher settings and logs are stored under %LOCALAPPDATA%\StartupManager.
• Backups of disabled or adopted registry entries are stored under HKCU\Software\StartupManager\Disabled.

No data is ever stored in cloud databases or transmitted off your machine.

Data retention and deletion

Configuration stays on your device until you remove it:

• Releasing a managed app restores its original Windows startup entry and removes it from Startup Manager.

Deleting the %LOCALAPPDATA%\StartupManager folder and the HKCU\Software\StartupManager registry key removes all remaining app data. Uninstalling the application removes its binaries.

Permissions

• runFullTrust: required by Windows for a packaged desktop app that reads and edits the registry, the Startup folders and Task Scheduler.
• Start with Windows: Startup Manager registers itself in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run so it can launch the apps you manage. You can remove this registration at any time in Settings.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children and does not collect any information from anyone.
