Privacy Policy — Better Bluetooth Icon

Summary

Better Bluetooth Icon operates 100% locally on your personal computer. It does not collect, log, transmit, sell, or share any personal data, peripheral identifiers, or telemetry. It makes no network connections.

What the App accesses

• Local Bluetooth radio adapters: queries paired peripheral names, connection states, and battery level characteristics solely to render visual overlays on your screen.
• System settings: reads Windows theme preference (Dark/Light mode) to match context menus, and global hotkeys registered by the user.

Where your data is stored

All settings are stored locally on your device:

• Application settings and registered keyboard shortcuts are stored in the Windows Registry under HKCU\Software\BetterBluetoothIcon\Settings.
• Device statuses and battery levels are kept in-memory only and discarded upon app shutdown.

No data is ever stored in cloud databases or transmitted off your machine.

Data retention and deletion

Since no historical or personal data is collected, retention is minimal:

• Registry settings remain until you uninstall the app or clear the registry key.

Uninstalling the application removes all application binaries.

Permissions

• bluetooth device capability: required by Windows to discover local Bluetooth devices and read battery levels.
• runFullTrust: required for desktop system tray integration and global hotkey listeners.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children and does not collect any information from anyone.
